Birth

According to Article 1 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 403, if you were born to a Turkish citizen mother or father in Turkey or abroad, you can claim to be a Turkish citizen.

If the parents are successful in their citizenship applications, their children can also get citizenship. Those who have lost their Turkish citizenship can be naturalized again, depending on some conditions.

The Turquoise Card System

It is like Green Card in the United States. It allows you to live and work permanently in Turkey. It is developed for qualified foreign high-level educators, investors, or anyone who will contribute to arts, sports, social and cultural activities. Visit Turquoise Card for more information.

Marriage

You cannot obtain Turkish citizenship directly based on marriage to a Turkish citizen. At the time of application, the applicant must have been married to a Turkish citizen for at least 3 years, and the marriage must be ongoing.

When applicants meet the requirements, they only have the right to apply for Turkish citizenship.

Long-Term Residence

Foreigners who have lived in Turkey for 5 years or more with a residence permit are eligible if they have not stayed outside the country for more than 185 days per year.

You must show that you can support yourself financially. Also, the officials conduct an on-the-spot home inspection and ask you to attend an interview in Turkish.

How to Apply for Citizenship of Turkey by Investment?
